What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is the process of correcting the deformities of the nose that occur as a result of congenital or subsequent trauma and diseases.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia. The duration of the operation varies between 2-4 hours, depending on the structure of the nose. The operation is mostly performed with the correction of the cartilage curves in the nose that prevent breathing. At the same time, concha) problems can be resolved.
This surgery has two techniques (open-closed). These options are evaluated together with the patient. The hospital stay is one day.
After the surgery, it is important to sleep with the head elevated for 3 days and apply cold to the area. Sometimes it is not necessary to put a tampon in the nose.
If a tampon is placed in the nose, it is removed between 5-7 days. On the 7th day, the stitches are removed and 2 days after the stitches are removed, make-up can be applied to the area.
The healing process varies between 1-2 weeks. The bruising and edema usually disappear in 2 weeks, but the full shape of the nose takes place between 3 and 6 months, depending on age.
