What is Auricular Tumor?

Malignant tumors can rarely be seen in the ear structure. Cancerous malignant tumors typically develop from tissues whose cells divide and multiply rapidly. The most common areas of ear tumors are the skin-covered auricle of the outer ear, the outer ear canal, and the tympanum.

Tumors that develop in the outer ear are often called skin cancer.

Such tumors are divided into benign and malignant tumors.

Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common tumor in the external and middle ear.

In addition, glomus jugulare tumor or glomus tympanicum tumor can also be seen in the tympanum. Although these are not cancerous, they are tumors that tend to destroy all surrounding structures, including bone. They can cause serious problems in hearing and balance due to several damage. These tumors, which are prone to bleeding, should be treated urgently.

Symptoms of ear pain can be listed as;

  • Hearing loss
  • Feeling of fullness
  • Unbalance
  • Dizziness
  • Ache
  • Bleeding
  • Ear discharge
  • Sounds in the ear that are parallel to the heartbeats.
  • Ringing in the ears
